Changes in Work Hours

We wish to advice of changes in work hours and intentions as a direct result of the impact on our business by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning Monday 6 April our doors will effectively close to all non-urgent or emergency patients for an unknown time-frame. It is my intention to provide two half day clinics to see urgent appointments; Tuesday and Thursday between 9am and 12 noon. These times will be made available by appointment only and triaged over the phone. It is not my intention for this to be a walk-in clinic.

I will see emergency cases any time during the week should that be required.

Emergencies that may require face-to-face consultation:

  • A sudden loss of vision
  • Pain and redness
  • Seeing haloes, or circles around lights
  • Experiencing new floaters or flashes of light
  • Bulging or swelling of the eye
  • Double vision
  • Sudden and persistent blurred vision

Emergency requirements for spectacles and contact lens supply:
We recognise people will need emergency replacement of spectacles due to breakage and loss. This is a crucial service for essential services workers and will be prioritised as such.

We are also aware that many are now working from home – if you are experiencing difficulties with your current glasses in this setting it is appropriate that we discuss a solution – this also may require a visit to the practice.

Should you require more contact lenses simply call the practice to arrange – we can have these delivered to your home.

There will be staff rostered on between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday to take phone calls.

Things are changing rapidly – the most up-to-date information will be posted to our Facebook page.

Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions – 6424 3088

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Stay safe!
